8 NH90 helicopters for the Belgian Army, 2 in option
>> Wed 25/04/07 - The Belgian Government has decided to purchase eight new transport helicopters for the army. The new medium-sized helicopter will replace ageing Alouettes and Seakings. The eight helicopters will cost just under 300 million euros. The Defence Ministry had asked for ten craft, but because of the price tag only eight are being purchased. The Government announced it was buying new helicopters seven years ago when a major reform of the Belgian armed forces was initiated, but the army has had to wait until this year for the final go ahead.
